When we sit idly by, there are things that come to surface that
Speaker:we have shoved away in the deepest, darkest corners shoved
Speaker:away into the junk drawers of our mind. That might be coming
Speaker:to surface right now my
Speaker:Hello, fellow Earthlings. Welcome to the becoming the big
Speaker:me podcast.
Speaker:I'm your host,
Speaker:Djemilah Birnie. And together, we will be stepping
Speaker:into our highest potential, exploring all things mind, body,
Speaker:and soul. With justice, major business, you're a spiritual
Speaker:badass solopreneur and a warrior for change, you're ready to
Speaker:expand your impact and leave your old self behind in order to
Speaker:raise your vibration so that you can positively influence your
Speaker:business, your community, and ultimately, the world. Without
Speaker:further ado, let's dive right into it. How are you? How are
Speaker:you holding up during this current pandemic? I just wanted
Speaker:to pop down here, say hi, hello, check in on you guys. And just
Speaker:see, you know, there's a lot of stuff going on in our world
Speaker:right now. And it can be easy to get caught up in the negative
Speaker:downward spiral of the news cycle and the fear and the
Speaker:uncertainty. And I just want to remind you that
Speaker:you
Speaker:are the creator, you are powerful. And what you focus on
Speaker:grows with you're sit there and indulge in the negativity cycle,
Speaker:it's just going to make the anxiety it's going to increase
Speaker:the anxiety and the frustrations and the fear. Now, yes, it is
Speaker:important to stay informed, it is important to know what's
Speaker:going on. But there has to be a limit of it. I know with us all
Speaker:at home, it can be easy to just indulge in all of the craziness,
Speaker:all of the stories. And let allow your mind to just go down
Speaker:that path.
Speaker:So
Speaker:I hope that you are doing wealth, staying happy and sane
Speaker:during all of this. Now to flip things, I always try to look at
Speaker:things from the positive perspective, I always try to see
Speaker:what is the good that we can take out of this. And there's
Speaker:actually quite a lot of good that I have seen, you know,
Speaker:coming from this. The first thing is her humanitarianism. I
Speaker:don't know if that's how you say that or if that's even a word is
Speaker:that, you know, people are really showing up for each other
Speaker:right now as a community. I see the community coming together.
Speaker:You know, I see families coming together to help each other with
Speaker:childcare during this time. I see college students
Speaker:volunteering to go grocery stopping grocery shopping for
Speaker:the elders of our community, I see businesses going above and
Speaker:beyond to serve their clients, schools, providing meals to make
Speaker:sure that people are fed. I just see a lot of good this it can
Speaker:bring out you know, the bad in people, but it can bring out the
Speaker:good and I see a lot of good coming from this we are coming
Speaker:together as a society to help each other and in times of
Speaker:crisis. That's something that is really important and that that
Speaker:community is something that I hope carries through through the
Speaker:end of this pandemic. The other opportunity that this crisis is
Speaker:giving us is it is a forced shutdown a force so low down is
Speaker:making us take a step back and truly reevaluate what's
Speaker:important reevaluate our entire lives and do some deep digging
Speaker:and some deep soul searching. Many of us are stuck at home by
Speaker:ourselves. We are not you know, out in the world with our
Speaker:activities, and that gives our brains a lot of idle time which
Speaker:can be uncomfortable for some it can be scary. When we sit idly
Speaker:by, there are things that come to serve fears that we have
Speaker:shoved away in the deepest, darkest corners shoved away into
Speaker:the junk drawers of our mind, that might be coming to surface
Speaker:right now might be showing its head, given that our brains are
Speaker:not overwhelmed with the constant state of activity in
Speaker:our society. So often, we are so busy, we're just go go go all
Speaker:the time, we don't allow ourselves to have that time to
Speaker:rest and for us to heal, and us to self reflect. And this time
Speaker:is really kind of forcing us to do those things. It's forcing us
Speaker:to do that inner work. And let me ask you, how has it been?
Speaker:How's it been for you? Has it been uncomfortable? Have you
Speaker:noticed new things come into light? Are you getting a little
Speaker:bit more clarity on what it is that you truly desire? For me,
Speaker:this has made me think of a lot of I have been at home. thinking
Speaker:a lot, I've been writing a lot, journaling a lot, creating a
Speaker:lot, you know, so, so much. So many things. Over the past
Speaker:couple of weeks, I've created some new programs, I've revamped
Speaker:my entire website for becoming the big me revamp my entire
Speaker:website for my digital marketing agency, Midnight Sun media.
Speaker:And got an opportunity for a really cool interview for a
Speaker:bigger publication. I'll share more with you guys about that
Speaker:when that comes through. But I invite you to use this time to
Speaker:really, you know, dig into your soul, dig into yourself, self
Speaker:reflect journal, what is worth going back to, when all of this
Speaker:is over? And we've had to cut so many things out. What is it
Speaker:that's worth going back to this time has made me reevaluate my
Speaker:purpose, you know, I first started my business seven years
Speaker:ago, so that I could be there for my daughter, so I could, you
Speaker:know, do the things that I wanted with her and have that
Speaker:freedom with her. And over the years, that purpose has kind of
Speaker:gotten lost, like, Yes, I am able to be with her. But I have
Speaker:put so much of my energy and my time into my business and into
Speaker:my clients that sometimes I have forgotten the true purpose, the
Speaker:deeper meaning the deeper reasoning, and I'm very grateful
Speaker:for this time, because it's made me remember that. And that's,
Speaker:that's something that I plan to carry out through this time.
Speaker:Once the world opens back up again, I plan to carry out that
Speaker:purpose and that meaning and just remember why I do what I
Speaker:do, it's really so that I can watch her grow up so I can be
Speaker:there for her so I can attend her events. Um, you know, all of
Speaker:the extra stuff with my business and my clients, I love serving
Speaker:my clients, I love watching their lives transform. But at
Speaker:the core of it all, it's, you know, it all started because of
Speaker:her knots matru purpose. So while you have some quiet time,
Speaker:while you're sitting away, in your quarantine, and your you
Speaker:know, social distancing, I invite you to reflect on a
Speaker:couple questions. You know, the first one, what is truly
Speaker:important to me, what are my deepest desires? What are the
Speaker:things that truly light me up? What is it that is important to
Speaker:me? And to? What are the things that I can get rid of what is
Speaker:you know, some of that fat that I can cut? What is some of the
Speaker:activities or people or thought patterns or beliefs that I don't
Speaker:want to return back to after this is over? What can I get rid
Speaker:of? And, and three? How can I utilize this time to my
Speaker:advantage? How can I utilize this time to heal, to self
Speaker:discover to self reflect how can I use this time to do some deep
Speaker:soul searching so that when this time is over, I am more clear, I
Speaker:have a better picture of the direction that I'm going I know
Speaker:more what I want for those of you who have had the desire on
Speaker:your heart to start your own business, but have been too
Speaker:caught up in the certainty of the nine to five. This
Speaker:opportunity is for you. The universe has forced us in to
Speaker:shut down okay. The universe is giving You have an opportunity
Speaker:to pursue that dream all certainty is gone, nothing is
Speaker:certain anymore so that we don't have that certainty to hold on
Speaker:to anymore. So why not take this time to just dive even deeper
Speaker:into the uncertainty and create what it is that has been on your
Speaker:heart to create?
